I’ve been seeing rumors all over the Internet that Justin Guarini (of American Idol fame) has recorded a song that he is trying to get included on the Twilight Saga New Moon soundtrack. I can’t confirm for sure that it is from him, but http://www.justinguarini.com/ is supposedly his official website and does have the Youtube video featured on its front page. It also has this note with it: “Here’s a song that Tammy Hyler, Shaye Smith, and I wrote specifically for “New Moon”. I’ve set it to some stills, and slapped my vocals on it. If you like it, make sure to spread the word and ask Stephenie Meyer to put it on the soundtrack – JG.” The song is also featured on the Justin Guarini MySpace page with a little over 300 plays so far.
The song certainly sounds like it could be written for New Moon. The opening talks about “scent” and “blood.” Obviously the premise of “I can’t live without you” is central to New Moon (for a couple of characters). I’m not a Justin fan, but I think I might actually like this song, especially in the context of New Moon.
What do you think? Does it belong on the New Moon soundtrack? Is this really a way to get your music included on the soundtrack of a major motion picture? The song is catchy – would love to hear it in the movie.

The song is too weak to be included in a movie as strong as New Moon.
Songs that are lyrically strong, sung by artists with voices that reach out and grab you are what this sound track needs.
I assume this is for the scene where Edward leaves Bella and if that’s the case a much more gut wrenching and powerful song is needed. Justin’s voice doesn’t really convey the pain and suffering that Bella feels at that moment.

I believe Justin’s song is the perfect love song and would do nothing except make the Twilight series more popular, to a wider demographic. I have recently stopped watching vampire movies. But would see Twilight and recommend it to all of my friends, if Justin’s song were a part of it.

I don’t like the song. It lacks the feeling behind the words to make it seem real. I would say no.
