Opinions are all over the place about the upcoming Twilight Saga New Moon movie. While Twilight stands with multiple MTV Movie Award nominations, it was still panned by many. The second movie in the Twilight series, New Moon, is now being hurriedly filmed, with production set for the third in the series shortly after fiming concludes on New Moon.

Twilight got lucky last year when its release was moved up due to a delay in the release date of the next Harry Potter movie. New Moon is currently set to release around the same timeframe. Will you be at the Twilight Saga New Moon release on November 20? Do you plan on seeing it while it is in the theatres or waiting until the DVD comes out? Or do you not even care to see it at all?

Now that Twilight Saga New Moon has begun filming, people are asking where they can find New Moon shirts. The official New Moon merchandise has not yet been released. I’ve been seeing rumors all over the Internet that Justin Guarini (of American Idol fame) has recorded a song that he is trying to get included on the Twilight Saga New Moon soundtrack. I can’t confirm for sure that it is from him, but http://www.justinguarini.com/ is supposedly his official website and does have the Youtube video featured on its front page. It also has this note with it: “Here’s a song that Tammy Hyler, Shaye Smith, and I wrote specifically for “New Moon”. I’ve set it to some stills, and slapped my vocals on it. If you like it, make sure to spread the word and ask Stephenie Meyer to put it on the soundtrack – JG.” The song is also featured on the Justin Guarini MySpace page with a little over 300 plays so far.

The song certainly sounds like it could be written for New Moon. The opening talks about “scent” and “blood.” Obviously the premise of “I can’t live without you” is central to New Moon (for a couple of characters). I’m not a Justin fan, but I think I might actually like this song, especially in the context of New Moon.

I was doing some searching about possible scenes for the Twilight Saga New Moon movie today and came across some interesting information about New Moon on Stephenie Meyer’s website. Apparently she has what she calls “New Moon Outtakes” on her site. These are three different parts of New Moon that were originally written but changed for the final published book. It would be interesting to see if any of the storylines from the outtakes make it to the movie.

There are three different shorts available in pdf: Narcotics, The Scholarship, and If Jacob Didn’t Break the Rules. My thoughts:

Narcotics: I didn’t like this one. There was something about Edward saying Bella was “high” that I just didn’t like.

The Scholarship: Interesting. And a way to keep Edward in the picture more when he was gone.

If Jacob Didn’t Break the Rules: This is a MAJOR plot shift. Everything pretty much ends the same way to roll into Eclipse, but it’s extremely different. I’d have to go back and reread New Moon to really decide which way I like better.

I’m loving the New Moon coverage lately on Entertainment Tonight. They have some of the best videos and the most credible Twilight rumors. In the video below, they reveal four different New Moon secrets (although I don’t really think that they are all “secrets”). Most interesting to me is that talk about how Edward will appear as some type of apparition to Bella through the first half of the book rather than just a voice in her head. I like that because I could totally see that while I was reading the book. In fact, I often got the feeling that he was still physically “looking over her.”

Do you think it is true to the book or too much of a stretch just for the sake of Robert Pattinson getting more screen time in the movie?
