This clip below from a local Fox station talks a little about Robert Pattinson wanting to play Jeff Buckley and a Coldplay song appearing in New Moon (along with other miscellaneous entertainment news about Harry Potter and more).

Here’s the exact quote about New Moon from the Coldplay official site:

“It’s very likely that a Coldplay song will end up on the soundtrack to the Twilight sequel given that Stephenie Meyer has credited Coldplay, amongst others, on the inner sleeve for ‘being instrumental in staving off the writer’s block’.”

The special edition soundtrack contains extra tracks including “Flightless Bird, American Mouth,” which was the song Bella and Edward danced to at the end of Twilight at the prom. The set also includes a DVD of extra materials.
