Apparently she has what she calls “New Moon Outtakes” on her site. These are three different parts of New Moon that were originally written but changed for the final published book. It would be interesting to see if any of the storylines from the outtakes make it to the movie.

There are three different shorts available in pdf: Narcotics, The Scholarship, and If Jacob Didn’t Break the Rules. My thoughts:

Narcotics: I didn’t like this one. There was something about Edward saying Bella was “high” that I just didn’t like.

The Scholarship: Interesting. And a way to keep Edward in the picture more when he was gone.

If Jacob Didn’t Break the Rules: This is a MAJOR plot shift. Everything pretty much ends the same way to roll into Eclipse, but it’s extremely different. I’d have to go back and reread New Moon to really decide which way I like better.

The lawsuit supposedly involved a college friend of Meyer who wrote a short story that Meyer “stole” and turned into Twilight.

Meyer has published an official statement on her website that there is no such lawsuit. Further, many of the facts of the story have been proven to be false. The roommate named “Heidi” never existed and the professor allegedly quoted does not exist.

It’s amazing how fast inaccurate stories can spread on the Internet. What’s even more amazing in this case were the number of legitimate news sources repeating a story that had no basis in truth. No worries, Twilight fans. The filming of New Moon continues!
